For more than a decade, I have tracked every expense, invested consistently, and used the resulting data to make better decisions. Those ordinary habits eventually gave me something more valuable than a bigger number: control over my time.

I recently left my job after reaching the point where work became optional. Now I document the choices that helped me get there and the surprises that only became visible afterward.

My background and method

I spent sixteen years turning data into decisions, most recently leading analytics at Poshmark. I trust actual behavior more than rules of thumb, so my essays start with my own numbers, circumstances, and tradeoffs.

I will not always have the right answer. I can show what I did, why I did it, what changed, and where someone else might reasonably choose differently. This website is the primary and most current home for that work.
